#4 - Long nights

As my days tend to start around noon it’s just halftime now. So yes, I am one of those people whose days begin when they wake up; respectively end when they go to sleep. It’s still today and not tomorrow even after midnight. I am yet undecided if I wanna give the Highlights Of The Day credits to the football…

#3 - Pakistani-Indian Relations

Big day, today! Not only did I discover (again) that Jim Carrey can really act – I watched The Number 23 which was quite entertaining – I also scheduled my late activities so that I could watch East Is East a dramaesk comedy about a Pakistani/English family whose patriarch is trying to force his sons into arranged marriages. The film has its highs…

#2 - Waste the day with tuna

Did I mention that my fallback spot is far away from the city? In fact, it is far away from all cities which sometimes feels like I left mankind behind. Not that I feel overly dramatic today. Most of the weekend’s distress I left behind maltreating my punching bag and running my sorrows away (okay, I am overly dramatic today).
Still,…

Almighty Spicy Tuna Rémoulade

I am double posting the recipe that originated in the course of the Highlight Of The Day project.

Almighty Spicy Tuna Rémoulade:

  • 1 can of tuna
  • 2 medium pickles cut into very small squares
  • 1 small red onion (or sweet white they got in the U.S.)
  • Standard salad sauce
  • Spicy Thai Mayonnaise (roughly one-fifth of the salad sauce)
  • White vine vinegar
  • Some sprinkles of water from the pickles
  • Freshly…

Highlight Of The Day - The Boredom Chronicles

Today: After watching an old episode of Diggnation, I discovered that Being a Geek is OK and also, I could beat the crap out of 33 five year olds. Yeah!

Goodbye & Farewell

This is the end. Suiting my character I will end the Helmet in India section by intertwining something funny with something devastating, some might say tragic. Train rides: one of my favorite topics.

The Bombay metro system is a known hazard to commuters. Since nothing is alike this city, train rides blend in smoothly. They actually can kill you. I was…

Rajasthan Journey [Gallery]

Still waiting to get back the analog photos I took during my Rajasthan travel – it’s been 85 days that I returned (yeah, I am a lazy bum) – I ftp’d the ones I took with my iPhone. They’re surprisingly good.
[Rajasthan Photo Gallery]

In short, I flew in to Jaipur, the pink city. Apparently, the Rajasthanis are peculiarly aware of the…

Help Of Mari [Pics]

One of the last things I did in Mumbai was visiting an orphanage for HIV/AIDS-infected children in the outskirts. In India, those children are treated a family disgrace and completely excluded form social life. The sisters of the order The Helpers of Mary – with the support of expatriates and medical, food and clothing donations – built a lovely home for…

The FRRO Experience [Pics]

To sum up my time in India I decided to post the remaining photos and comment on a couple of events and travels. I start with an adventurous layover at the FRRO, the Foreigners Regional Registration Office in Mumbai, which actually felt more like detention.

I feel obliged to mention that Indian law constitutes a resident a person with a habitation…

Wallpaper: modblog_extreme

Surfing for impressions on a new tattoo design I stumbled across the modblog of bmezine.com, a website dedicated to the art of body modification which is a euphemism for cutting your dick open. Just kidding. Well, actually I am not. Only exaggerating. Body modifications include all kinds of measures to alter the human body and to infringe the physical inviolability. Tattoos…
